Offering Free Medical Care with the Help of Compassionate Volunteers

How Can You Help

Tri City Health Partnership is only able to provide free medical services to those in need with help from compassionate individuals. We are currently seeking volunteers in the medical field and monetary gifts. No matter how much time you can spare or how much money you can donate, we appreciate every bit. We advertise organizations that make a substantial donation on our list of valued supporters.

Sarah Kimber, M.D.

Medical Volunteers

Physicians choose the date and time they are available to see patients on-site at TCHP. Most medical volunteers volunteer 2 to 3 hours per month and see 8 to 10 patients in that time. No matter how long you can volunteer, your time is valuable to us. Specialty physicians who wish to provide consultations over the phone or at their office may also join the clinic physician volunteers. These physicians act as consultants to the physicians seeing patients at the clinic.

Registered nurses choose volunteer hours according to their availability. They triage patients, work with volunteer physicians, and assist staff to meet our patient's needs.

Medical Volunteers May Include:

• Primary Care Providers: MD, DO, NP, RN

• Dentists, Dental Assistants, Dental Hygienists

Specialty Physicians Accepting Referrals:
Specialists that volunteer for TCHP accept a specific number of patients (i.e., 1 to 2 patients per month) and treat them within their private practice on a referral basis. As a specialist, you determine the number of individuals you are willing to see in a specific period. On-site physicians at our clinic make referrals.

Dental Volunteers

A healthy mouth and healthy body go hand in hand. Good oral hygiene and oral health improve overall health, greatly reducing the risk of serious disease. Your occasional gift of care helps us to provide the comprehensive care that TCHP patients often need. Volunteer dental director, John Mason DDS, and clinic dental manager, Dawn Ritter, RDH, BSDH, MSDH, oversee the TCHP dental program.

If you have a heart for the underserved and you would like to provide dental care in our beautiful dental office, please give us a call. We see patients for both preventive and restorative procedures, so we need dentists, hygienists, and assistants. Our volunteer dental professionals choose their schedule and the services they want to provide. If you would rather see a limited number of patients in your private dental office, we would also love to hear from you.

Currently Needed:

• Oral Surgeon

• Endodontist

• Periodontist

Malpractice Risks

Volunteer medical providers are exempt from liability under IL Good Samaritan Statute (HB 355 Section 31). Volunteer dental professionals are exempt from liability under IL Good Samaritan Statute (745 ILCS 49/20).

A contribution makes a difference in the health of a local resident in need. Funding supports the purchase of medication, supplies, and equipment, and helps to defray operating expenses. Our services are free to those who qualify; therefore, we are dependent upon donations from individuals, private trusts, service clubs, foundations, churches, and organizations like the United Way. TCHP does not receive state or federal funding or any reimbursements from Medicare, Medicaid, or third party payers.

TCHP Wish List

At times, donors ask if we need something specific. We appreciate any and all donations, but here are a few items our clinic needs to provide quality care:

  • New sink and faucet for our Dental Room - $500
  • Extraction Instruments - $975
  • Front Steps Remodel - $1,500
  • New Sign in front yard with new logo - $1,000

Designating Estate Assets to TCHP

People occasionally call the clinic asking about designating estate assets to TCHP. You can designate estate assets to family, friends, and charitable organizations, such as ours. This option allows individuals to give a significant gift to a cause that is important to them without making that sacrifice during your life. Planned giving integrates your charitable gift as part of your overall financial, tax, and estate planning goals to maximize benefits to both you and the charitable organization of your choice.
